We are your teaching staff. We come to you with varying years of experience, and with different educational experiences. Some of us have only taught locally, some us have experience teaching abroad. Perhaps we are remaining at a grade level we are familiar with, perhaps we are coming in to teach a grade we are unfamiliar with. We are individuals who are at different places in our career-learning journeys. When entering your school, we will not teach the same groups of students in the same environments, our class sizes will differ, and our outcomes will differ based on whether we are a mainstream teacher or specialist; perhaps some of us will have split-level classes, and some of us will not. Some of us will have students with special needs, some of us will have ELL students … no two classes will be alike. We are individuals with individual needs. How can you best help us? By acknowledging this and taking the time to develop individualized planners that will empower us and help us connect to your school’s teaching philosophy and values.
